Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Virgin Relaxer & Flat Iron.

Before any Virgin Relaxer & Flat Iron we perform a consultation and patch test to assess hair and scalp health. Our stylists use professional techniques and formulations to minimize risk; damaged hair may require strengthening treatments before chemical straightening.

Typical service time ranges from two to four hours depending on hair length, density, and texture. Consultation, relaxer processing, neutralizing, treatment, and flat iron styling are included. Longer or shorter appointments are scheduled based on individual needs.

Avoid washing hair for 48-72 hours after service to allow bonds to set. Use sulfate-free shampoos, deep condition weekly, limit heat styling, and schedule follow-up trims. We'll provide a tailored at-home routine to preserve straightened results.

When performed correctly on healthy virgin hair, relaxers minimize breakage and smooth texture. However, overprocessing can cause damage; our consultation determines hair readiness and we recommend strengthening treatments or postpone service if hair shows pre-existing weakness.

Straightened results typically last six to twelve weeks, depending on hair growth, texture, and maintenance. New growth will gradually return textured roots; regular touch-ups and recommended home care extend smoothness and overall healthy appearance.

If you plan to color, tell us during consultation. We usually recommend coloring before relaxers or waiting four to six weeks after to avoid overlapping chemical processes. Recommended timing depends on hair porosity and chosen color technique.
